Lauren Watt sets new Suffolk county record at Winter Nationals alongside Olympians

After Qualifying to swim 3 different events at the ASA Winter Nationals, Newmarket swimmer Lauren Watt and her father traveled to Sheffield on the 14th of December for her to compete against the top swimmers in the country. Also competing at the event were Olympians Ben Proud and Jazz Carlin and world Champion Breaststroke swimmer Molly Renshaw. Laurens first swim went well with a time of 33.46 on the 50m breaststroke, a new Personal Best leaving her 6th in the Juniors category. The following day saw her swim the 100m Individual Medley. Lauren went in dead last in the seedings with a time of 1.07.62 and finished 11th out of 29 junior swimmers with a new Personal Best of 1.06.07. The 3 days were topped off by the 100m Breaststroke which Lauren finished in 1.12.41, a new Suffolk county record for a 15/16 year old Girl.

I think this may be our biggest medal haul to date, 90 in total after a truly great weekend at the Milton Keynes Open Meet

We had 130 PB’s, 38 Gold, 24 Silver and 26 Bronze Medals.
