The club was extremely pleased to welcome GB Olympic swimmer Jemma Lowe to the club recently. Jemma held a question and answer session followed by a full training session. Over 50 club swimmers attended and were treated to a really quality session.
More details of Jemmas achievement can be seen at: http://www.swimming.org/britishswimming/swimming/womens-profiles/jemma-lowe/
The club would like to thank Jemma for taking time to visit us, Head Coach Annette Skeet was very pleased and said “I hope that everyone was able to take something away with them and that Jemma was able to inspire them to do greater things. I hope they remember some of the things that Jemma said like ” Mornings are all part of a swimmers life and swimming twice in one day is good preparation for competing and If you want the success you have to put in the water time.”
Nigel Fussey who was instrumental in organising the event added “I had the pleasure of making contact and booking Jemma's session for the club. Throughout she was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was the same on the night, nothing too much trouble and spending equal time with all squads. Clearly demonstrating drills and answering questions about the drills as well. Even at the end of the session, when having to make the journey back to Bath, for a 6. 00 am training, Jemma still made time to sign autographs on kit bags, shirts and water bottles! Jemma is a credit to her sport and I would hope that her proud goal of achieving "triple Olympian " is made, I'm sure her attitude will have been inspirational to our swimmers. “
